Senior Fund Accountant

Responsibilities include
  • computation of management fees and performance allocations across funds and series
  • performance reporting for investor statements and investor commentaries
  • support for department managers in their daily functions and the month-end close process
  • preparation of financial reports for management and counterparties
  • coordination with auditors for both SOC 1 and FS audits and preparation of quarterly and yearly financial statements and audit fieldwork requests
  • coordination with administrators
  • preparation of quarterly regulatory filings including Forms PF, CPO-PQR, 13F, and 13G
  • interaction with back office departments (Operations, Treasury, Investor Relations, Marketing, Tax, Legal, and Corp Accounting) as needed to complete daily/monthly responsibilities
  • maintenance of policies and procedures and internal control documentation.

The ideal candidate will have
  • a CPA certificate and current valid CPA license (preferred)
  • strong knowledge of hedge fund accounting, with 3-7 years of experience in financial services focused on large hedge funds
  • prior experience in public accounting (preferred)
  • demonstrated ability to work in a high transaction operational environment, while taking ownership for the control and improvement of departmental processes and driving innovation with the ability to troubleshoot, streamline, enhance, develop, and document
  • understanding of the Geneva portfolio accounting platform and integrated data warehouse for reporting
  • experience with modernization and continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Geneva as the core engine and integrating proprietary applications to enhance GAAP, MIS, and regulatory reporting
  • excellent oral and written communication skills.
