Introduction

This website privacy policy (the "Policy") describes how Renaissance Technologies LLC and its affiliates ("Renaissance") treat personal information collected on the Renaissance www.rentec.com and www.renfund.com websites (each a "Website"). This Policy does not apply to information that Renaissance may collect through other means.

Information that Renaissance Collects

Personal Information

When you visit a Website, Renaissance may collect certain personal information about you, such as your name, address, and email address, as well as any other personal information that you may provide, for example, through submission of forms or other documents.

For security purposes, Renaissance employs software to monitor traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or otherwise damage a Website. Any information that an individual provides to Renaissance by visiting a Website will be stored within the United States. If you live outside of the United States, you understand and agree that Renaissance may store your information in the United States. Each Website is subject to United States laws, which may or may not afford the same level of protection as those in your country. Renaissance retains personal information to the extent Renaissance deems necessary to carry out the processing activities described above, including but not limited to compliance with applicable laws, regulations, rules, and requests of relevant law enforcement and/or other governmental agencies, and to the extent Renaissance reasonably deems necessary to protect its and its partners' rights, property, or safety and the rights, property, and safety of its users and other third parties.

Cookies and Tracking Tools

As indicated above, Renaissance collects nonpersonal information on its Websites through the use of tracking tools, such as browser cookies. These cookies are necessary to allow you to browse a Website and access certain pages. Necessary cookies are required for the functionality of the Websites so that the Websites work properly. Renaissance does not use these cookies to collect personal information about you. Renaissance does not use any other types of cookies other than those cookies that are strictly necessary.

Each Website is meant for adults. Renaissance does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under age 16. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a child under 16 who believes that child may have visited a Renaissance Website, please contact the address below. By using the services provided by a Website, you represent that you are 16 years of age or older.

Business Transfer

Renaissance may, in the future, sell or otherwise transfer some or all of our business, operations, or assets to a third party, whether by merger, acquisition, or otherwise. Personal information Renaissance obtains from or about you through the Website may be disclosed to any potential or actual third-party acquirers and may be among those assets transferred.

Links to Other Sites or Third-Party Services

If a link to a third-party site is included on a Website and you click on it, you will be taken to a website Renaissance does not control. This Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of that website. Read the privacy policy of other websites carefully. We are not responsible for these third-party sites.

Disclaimer and Policy Updates

This Policy should not be construed as giving business, legal, or other advice or warranting as failproof the security of information provided through the Website. The internet is not 100% secure, and Renaissance cannot promise that your use of a Website or software will be completely safe. Renaissance disclaims any liability with respect to any information obtained by a third party through illegal entry into or breach of a Website. Renaissance will maintain all information as long as needed to comply with internal policies or applicable laws or for record-keeping purposes.

Modifications and Updates to this Privacy Policy

This Policy replaces all previous disclosures we may have provided to you about our information practices with respect to your use of the Websites.
